Know how your aid is applied, how you can use it, and what you need to do to keep it.
Financial aid doesn’t stop once you’re awarded. You’ll need to accept it, know how it pays for your costs, and stay on track academically to remain eligible.
Receiving and Accepting Aid
- You can view and accept your aid in your MyOTC portal.
- Financial aid disburses after the third week of classes. You must be registered in 6 credit hours to receive student loans.
Using Your Aid
Your financial aid is first applied to tuition and fees. You can also use it at the OTC Bookstore:
- Required or recommended textbooks and course materials listed in your booklist
- Up to $200 in school supplies
- Laptop needed for coursework
Financial Aid Refunds
Any financial aid not needed to pay your bill will be refunded directly to you. Refunds are usually issued 1 week after the aid disburses. Some financial aid cannot be refunded.
Courses and Academic Progress
Your eligibility depends on attending class and making academic progress each semester. Federal rules require Ozarks Tech to check your academic standing at the end of each term.
To keep your aid you need to:
- Maintain a minimum GPA (varies by program and hours attempted)
- Successfully complete at least 66.5% of your attempted credit hours
- Finish your program within 150% of the published credit hours
If you fall below these standards, you may lose aid but can appeal.
Before You Leave Ozarks Tech
If you borrowed federal student loans, you must complete Exit Counseling when you graduate, withdraw, or drop below half-time enrollment.
Manage Your Student Account
In your MyOTC Student Account Dashboard you can:
- View semester charges
- See anticipated and transmitted financial aid
- Track your disbursement details
- Review your registration charges
