To take the GED exam in the state of Missouri, you must meet the following eligibility requirements:
Age
You must be at least 17 years old to test in Missouri.
Missouri citizens (with a Missouri mailing address) less than 17 years of age interested in taking the GED® test must apply for an age waiver by completing and submitting the Missouri HSE Test Age Waiver Application.
Residency
You must have a Missouri mailing address to take the test in Missouri. You will be required to prove residency on the day of your exam. Please bring a government-issued photo ID with you when you test.
Acceptable forms of identification
Test Preparation or Instruction
Missouri doesn’t require you to prepare for the GED® test in an adult education classroom.
Practice Test
For those testing in-person at a Testing Center:
- You’re not required to take the GED Ready® practice test before taking the official GED® test.
For those testing on the Online Exam:
- You are required to take the GED Ready® practice test before taking the official GED® test online.
Identification
You must present identification on test day at the GED test center. Acceptable forms of identification include a valid permanent or temporary Missouri license (Driver, Nondriver, Intermediate, Commercial or Instruction [learners] permit), U.S. passport or U.S. military ID.

We will not accept outdated or expired identification, and your ID must be an original hard copy, not a photo of an ID.

Exams are paid for within your GED Account. Ozarks Tech Testing Services cannot take payment for GED exams.
