If you plan to take classes at two colleges at the same time, you can only get federal financial aid from one of them, so you’ll want to combine enrollments to get the most aid. A Consortium Agreement is a written plan between two schools to combine enrollment to maximize federal aid. A consortium must be completed by the student every semester they are dually enrolled and want financial aid.
One school will be the “Home” school, and the other will be the “Host” school.
- Home School: The school you plan to get your degree from. All classes will transfer to this school.
- Host school: The school you are taking classes from temporarily.
Generally, the home school will disburse your financial aid for all classes
Ozarks Tech as the Host School
If you are on a consortium agreement because you are dually enrolled, most of the time Ozarks Tech will be your host school. You should:
- Contact the home school to initiate the Consortium Agreement.
- Complete a payment plan or pay charges at Ozarks Tech. The home school will not apply your financial aid directly to us.
- Transfer your grades back to the home school after the semester by ordering an official transcript.
Ozarks Tech as the Home School
If you are taking classes somewhere other than Ozarks Tech that count toward your degree, Ozarks Tech will be your home school. Review the information below.
Enrollment
- You must be admitted to OTC as a degree-seeking student, and;
- Enrolled in classes at the host school which are required for your degree Ozarks Tech. Meet with your navigator if you are not sure.
You agree to:
- Submit a transcript to OTC’s Admissions office within 30 days after the semester ends.
- Inform your navigator of any enrollment changes within 15 days.
Tuition and Fees
- Ozarks Tech serves as the degree-awarding school. You will be billed tuition and fees for Ozarks Tech courses at normal rates, and are responsible for reviewing and paying your bill in myOTC.
- Ozarks Tech will not charge tuition or fees for courses taken at the host institution. You are responsible for paying charges assessed by the host school, regardless of whether you complete the course.
Receiving Financial Aid
Ozarks Tech will award and disburse your financial aid. It will be applied to Ozarks Tech fees, and the balance will be electronically transferred to your preferred refund method.
If at any point Ozarks Tech determines that the course(s) from the host school will not transfer back to Ozarks Tech, your Pell Grant will be adjusted accordingly, and you will be notified through your OTC email.
Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP)
- Classes at both the home and host schools are included in your Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) review each semester.
- Drop/withdrawals from courses at the host school be treated as withdrawals from Ozarks Tech courses.
- You must send an official transcript to OTC admissions at the end of each semester.
