First Flight is our orientation experience for incoming freshman students and their families. This event gives new students the chance to meet future classmates, explore campus, and get to know key departments and resources that will support them throughout their college journey.

First Flight is a one‑day event on the Ozarks Tech Springfield Campus. Check‑in begins at 8 a.m., and the program wraps up by 2 p.m. The day is packed with helpful information and plenty of fun!
During First Flight, you’ll:
- Receive exclusive Eagle merch, including a First Flight t-shirt and workbook
- Build your fall class schedule with a member of the Student Success team. (Additional support will be available following the event or by contacting Ozarks Tech Student Success.)
- Register for your digital Eagle Access Card
- Explore campus resources and clubs
- Tour the Springfield campus and amenities
- Connect with other incoming students

Can I bring someone with me?
Can I bring someone with me?
Yes! You may bring up to two adult guests. They’ll attend a separate, concurrent orientation designed specifically for parents and guardians. This session covers financial aid, fee payments and best practices for supporting your student, plus plenty of time for questions. We recommend guests bring a notepad and pen for taking notes. Parents and guardians should also bring a method of payment for tuition and fees.

Yes, orientation is mandatory for all freshman students. Students who participate in orientation will be able to meet classmates, familiarize themselves with the campus, and learn about many of the resources available for our students.
Register for First Flight
Complete registration for one of the dates below. First Flight is offered every Monday and Wednesday from 9 a.m. – 2 p.m., beginning May 27 and ending August 10, 2026.
Log in to your Application Portal to register for First Flight. Select the What’s Next tab at the top of your screen, then follow the prompts to find the session that matches your schedule.
Directions
First Flight will begin in Lincoln Hall, room #211 on Ozarks Tech Springfield Campus.
