A clear pathway for your next step after Ozarks Tech.
A Professional Pathway connects your coursework at Ozarks Tech directly to a graduate or professional program, through a plan built in partnership with that program. You’ll know exactly what to complete and when, and in some cases, you can secure a provisional acceptance before you even transfer.
Pre-Medicine
If you’re interested in becoming a physician, you can pursue a two-step pathway through the University of Missouri School of Medicine’s Springfield campus. Both programs are administered by the University of Missouri School of Medicine, so you’ll find current eligibility requirements, deadlines, and application materials on their site.
Junior Springfield Pathway Program
Start as early as your first semester. You’ll receive academic support, attend workshops and hands-on activities at the School of Medicine’s Springfield campus, complete physician shadowing, and gain volunteer experience as you begin building a competitive medical school candidacy.
Springfield Pre-Admission Program
Apply near the end of your sophomore year, once you know which four-year institution you plan to transfer into (Drury University, Evangel University, or Missouri State University). If accepted, you’ll receive a provisional acceptance to the School of Medicine’s Springfield campus, which you’ll hold as long as you meet ongoing academic and professionalism requirements through your bachelor’s degree.
Pre-Pharmacy
Earn your Associate of Science in Pre-Pharmacy and complete the prerequisite coursework most pharmacy schools require, with a course sequence aligned to the University of Missouri–Kansas City (UMKC) Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) program. If you’re accepted into UMKC’s program, you can complete your entire PharmD right here in Springfield.
This degree is designed for transfer, not as an end point. If you’re considering a pharmacy school other than UMKC, meet with an advisor at your desired school early to confirm that school’s specific prerequisites.
