How Do I Get Research Help?
You can schedule a one-on-one research appointment in person or online.
- In-person appointments are held at the Hamra Library on the Springfield campus.
- Virtual appointments take place on Microsoft Teams.
To request an appointment, fill out the One-on-One Research Help Form.
Appointments must be made at least 48 hours in advance to allow time for scheduling.
What Will Library Staff Help Me With?
During your consultation, library staff can:
- Show you how to access library databases, eBooks, and other resources
- Explain how to identify and evaluate different types of sources
- Demonstrate special database features like filters and citation tools
- Help you search the Ozarks Tech and MOBIUS catalogs
- Refer you to other campus services for additional academic support
What to Expect

Library staff are here to guide you—but not to complete your work. They can’t:
- Conduct research or finish assignments for you
- Write or edit parts of your paper
- Provide detailed feedback on grammar or writing mechanics
What to Bring
You don’t have to bring anything, but it helps to have:
- Your assignment instructions or rubric
- Notes or a clear topic idea
- A way to take notes during your appointment
If You’re Late or Need to Reschedule
If you arrive more than 15 minutes late, your appointment will be marked as a no-show and canceled.
If you need to cancel or reschedule, contact the library before your appointment. There’s no penalty for rescheduling, but new times depend on staff availability.
The library understands that plans change and will work with you to find a new time when possible.
