Job shadowing is an observational experience that will help you understand the requirements, routines and expectations of a career in healthcare. This is a required step for admission to several programs at Ozarks Tech.
Job Shadowing Requirements
- Job shadowing may be completed at any hospital or clinic that allows you to observe the required hours for your specific field of study.
- Please note that each shadow experience must focus on a single modality. You may not observe multiple fields (e.g., MRI and X-ray) during the same shift.
- All shadowing, for all the programs, is only good for up to two years before the application deadline.
- Specific programs require a job shadowing form to complete that needs to be uploaded with your application. It can be done electronically, or handwritten and scanned before uploading.
- Please be aware that many require vaccines, training, and other items before they let you shadow. Each health system has its own process, which may take several weeks to complete/schedule; reach out to the site for more information on their process/requirements.
