This assessment is the most widely used test of mechanical aptitude. This assessment presents simple, frequently encountered mechanisms and situations. While not based on specific training, this assessment requires a working knowledge of basic mechanical operations and the application of physical laws. The BMCT focuses on spatial perception and tool knowledge rather than manual dexterity and measures an individual’s aptitude to learn mechanical skills and learn the principles of operation and repair of complex devices.
Exam Time: 25 Minutes
This is an assessment of problem-solving abilities. The SLE may be a better predictor of training success than grade point average, level of education, and special skills. This is because the test identifies an individual’s capacity for learning, as well as the ability to apply knowledge. This assessment effectively identifies the academic skills of each applicant.
Exam Time: 12 Minutes
All Bennett & Wonderlic exams require a pre-registration and payment of testing fees ($25 for the Bennett, $10 for the Wonderlic). Students must pay Student Account Services prior to their arrival at Testing Services. (Student Account Services is located at the Student Services Counter in ICW 109 or you may pay Online through Commerce Manager.)
Please bring your receipt for the test fee and a photo ID to Testing Services on the day of your test.
You may pay your testing fees online using the Commerce Manager Payer. There will be a non-refundable $3.00 processing fee when paying with Commerce Manager.
