Lincoln Hall building at Ozarks Tech

Honoring the Legacy of Ozarks Tech’s Lincoln Hall

For nearly 100 years, historic Lincoln Hall has stood at Sherman and Central, witnessing Springfield history.

Ozarks Tech has worked to preserve and honor that legacy by restoring the building’s historic Lincoln name in 1998 as part of a major renovation, supporting efforts to secure its place on the National Register of Historic Places in 2001, completing another significant renovation in 2023, and most recently installing a series of displays that share the remarkable story of this landmark building.

The exhibit explores the site’s rich history, from the original Lincoln School established in 1884 to the construction of the current building as one of Missouri’s few Rosenwald schools, highlighting its importance to the surrounding neighborhood and its place in the broader story of Springfield.
