Your academic standing shows how your grades measure up at Ozarks Tech.
At the end of each semester, your GPA determines whether you’re in Good Standing or on Academic Notice. Knowing where you stand helps you plan ahead, stay eligible, and get the support you need to succeed.
Academic standing
At the end of each semester, Ozarks Tech reviews your institutional grades to determine your academic standing. You’ll either be in Good Standing or on Academic Notice.
Good standing
You’re in good standing if your Ozarks Tech cumulative GPA is 2.0 or higher.
Academic Notice
If your Ozarks Tech cumulative GPA falls below 2.0, you’ll be placed on Academic Notice. This is a warning—not a punishment. It means you need to improve your grades to stay on track toward your degree.
- You can still register for classes and change your schedule.
- You cannot take a course overload.
- You’ll remain on notice until your Ozarks Tech cumulative GPA is 2.0 or higher.
- You’re encouraged to meet with your college navigator each semester for guidance.
Academic Suspension
Ozarks Tech does not place students on academic suspension.
What comes next?
You have a second chance to succeed. By retaking certain courses, adjusting your course load, and working with your navigator, you can raise your institutional GPA and move forward.
