You can complete honors courses with any Ozarks Tech degree. To complete the program, you’ll need to earn a “B” or higher in all honors courses. You must also maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher in Ozarks Tech courses.

General Admissions to Ozarks Tech
Admission to Ozarks Technical Community College is open to all individuals who can benefit from its educational programs. A focus of the college mission is on the academic, career and personal goals of the student. OTC may admit you as a First-Time student just completing their high school, GED or HiSET requirements or as a Transfer student coming from another institution finishing up a certificate or degree. At Ozarks Tech, we want your transfer process to be easy. We accomplish this goal through articulation agreements. These agreements are an official partnership to match coursework between schools. This gives you a more seamless transition from Ozarks Tech to a four-year institution.
We have established an agreement for this program. This will simplify the transfer of your credits to partner schools. Honors Studies Certificate of Specialization
Certificate of Specialization: 15 Hours
The Honors Studies Certificate of Specialization is an interdisciplinary honors educational experience including honors coursework and service learning requirements as well as opportunities for individualized or learner-directed education, peer and instructor collaboration, and enhanced or additional learning environments and occurrences. This certificate is designed for academically motivated high-achieving students who act in a respectful and responsible manner that desire individualized or learner-directed experiences with a community of scholars seeking educational opportunities that are broader, deeper, unique, or more complex than comparable learning experiences.

- HON 101: Honors Seminar
Honors Seminar
The Honors Seminar engages a community of learners in creative and critical thinking and emphasizes analytical and communication skills as essential components to the course. Such a community of learners are supportive, inquisitive, active, and service-oriented. This course provides an intellectual and interdisciplinary exchange between students and faculty. The Honors Seminar exposes the student to the “life of the mind” that characterizes the OTC Honors Program.
Prerequisite(s): Admission to the Honors Program.

- HON 290: Honors Service Learning or complete an OTC course with a Service-Learning component.
Honors Service Learning
This course is designed tofulfill the service learning requirements of the OTC Honors Program. Students willengage in a 30 hour service partnership/project with a community non-profit agency.As a part ofthis partnership/project the student willmeet with the instructor to select an organization, present progress reports,research andimplement civic engagement and communication principles, andcreate a final completionpaper/presentation.
Prerequisite(s): Admission into the Honors Program. - Any Honors course with HON prefix or HON section or contracted through the Honor’s Office.
