Your student ID and method in selecting your refund preference, all in one.
The OTC SmartCard is required for every student at Ozarks Tech. It is both your official student ID and one of the ways you can receive your refunds. Your card will have your photo and student ID number printed on it, and it is used across campuses for services and identity verification.
What You Can Do with Your SmartCard
- Verify your identity when you need student services
- Check out books and materials from the library
- Access labs, tutoring, testing, and fitness centers
- Set your refund preference to receive financial aid, scholarships, or other refunds
Who Needs a SmartCard?
Every student enrolled at Ozarks Tech must have a SmartCard, no matter which campus or center you attend.
Even if you are only taking online classes, you still need a SmartCard. In that case, you may qualify for a no-photo SmartCard.
How to Get Your SmartCard
If you attend an in-person orientation before enrolling in classes, your photo will be taken and your SmartCard will be ordered at that time. Your card will then be mailed to you.
If you do not attend an orientation, you can pick up your card at your campus or center:
- Springfield: Information Technology Service Center, Information Commons Atrium
- Table Rock: Student Services
- Richwood Valley: Student Services
- Lebanon: Main Office
- Waynesville: Main Office
- Republic: Main Office
If you cannot visit a campus, you may qualify for a no-photo SmartCard.
No-Photo SmartCard
You may request a no-photo SmartCard if all the following apply:
- You are taking all classes online.
- You receive textbooks by mail from the OTC Bookstore.
- You do not plan to use campus services (Library, Tutoring, Testing, Fitness Center, etc.).
- It would be a hardship for you to visit a campus for a photo.
To apply:
- Update your mailing address and phone number in myOTC.
- Wait one business day for the update.
- Email [email protected] from your student email, including a valid government-issued photo ID.
Refunds and Your SmartCard
Refunds are delivered through BankMobile Disbursements, powered by BMTX, Inc. Once your Refund Selection Kit and SmartCard arrive in the mail, you will activate the card online and choose how you want to receive funds. Even if you don’t expect a refund, it’s important to make a selection. Dropped or cancelled classes, scholarships, or unexpected assistance could mean money is owed back to you, and choosing a preference ensures you’ll receive it without delay.
